Description:	Curiosity was established 1996 when mother and daughter Kristina and Pia Heinonen decided to start breeding beautiful and healthy dogs with outgoing temperaments. At this point both of them had been involved with dogs for many years and with silkys since 1989. First bearded collie came to the family 1990. Although breeding with beardies did start later. Our outlook is to only use the best possible dogs, no matter how far you have to go to find it. And never ever accept the 2nd best. For example, our foundation silky dam is a mix of the finest European lines mixed together with the finest Australian lines at that moment of time. Her name is Int & Fin & S & Dk ch JWW-94 Dane York Jeux de Mots called Inna bred by Markku Kipinä. We cud never have even bream of a better foundation dam. Inna has been giving Curiosity four litters. From each litter comes a World Winner offspring! Inna was mated twice with Multi Bis Winner Am & Mex ch WW-01 Shalee Tawny Mist Royal Silk the all time top silky terrier in U.S, ones by Bis Winner Aust & Fin ch EUW-01 Balkana Rare Edition and once by Group winner Fin & N & GBz ch Lonely Tunes Shalee Priority (Son of Royal Silk). We only have litters for the purpose of future breeding material. At Curiosity there are no litters that are fully sold to outsiders, we always co own, place or fully own at least one puppy from each litter. Later we carefully plan wich dogs we are using for future breeding work. There is even World- and Bis winners that are not worth continue their genes. We work together with some of the most appreciated breeders around the world. Some of them has became our dear friends. We value each others opinions and help each other as good as we can. We realize that the people that we co-own dogs with are important to us. We do appreciate their work more than words can tell. We also appreciate the work that each an every Curiosity owner does for us and their dogs. We need their help every now and then and we are ready to give our help always when needed. We never lend our males to females that we would not use for breeding our selves. We only lend our males to combinations we belief in. This might give some people the feeling that we are mean or self-centered, but people that know us better also knows that’s not how it is. Why would we work hard to get good materia and then spoil it by giving our males to females that does not for some reason deserve the male. Sometimes the reason we don’t lend a particular male is because it has already been used enough at that time. Silky terrier is a small breed we don’t want to jeopardize the breed by giving one male a too big breeding percent, not even for one year. We have created our own way of breeding like everybody does. Our priority is always to get better at what we do. Learn something new from every litter we have. Always aim for the perfect creature so in beauty, temperament as in health.
