Baldrighi conobbi un cane molto bello, robusto, elegante dall'aspetto intelligente. Per me fu un vero colpo di fulmine ed appena ci fu una cucciolata disponibile, portai a casa, in Toscana, i primi beagle-harrier . Anche se non avevano il pedigree, e non avevano la tipicità dei cani attuali, erano ugualmente belli. Dopo qualche anno constatai le doti fisiche, a mio avviso eccezionali, e la loro adattabilità ad ogni situazione di vita. Dal loro sguardo si intuisce che sono dolci, desiderosi di affetto, perché il loro spirito di gruppo richiede il contatto con il loro padrone e con i suoi simili.
